About Program

At Simcoe High School, students select an appropriate combination of academic courses to strengthen their knowledge and skills base, explore personal interests, and determine the type of post-secondary program they are best suited to pursue. Our University/College Preparation courses are carefully designed to provide students with the academic foundation and learning experience necessary for admission to top universities and colleges in Canada and abroad. We provide these courses through online and onsite delivery to ensure flexible and accessible learning for all students.

Through this program, students:

Program Sequence

✔️ The University Preparation Program at Simcoe offers four intakes each year: January, May, July and September.
✔️ Students can take 3 to 5 courses per semester.
✔️ A minimum of 3 courses per semester is required to maintain full-time status.

University Preparation Program is a flexible, supportive program ideal for:

The Simcoe High School Academic Pathways Program is designed to support international students who are completing their high school studies and planning their next steps in post-secondary education or career pathways. The program offers a wide range of Ontario Ministry of Education–approved courses that strengthen academic foundations, enhance essential learning skills, and prepare students for long-term success.

With guidance tailored to individual goals, the program equips learners with the knowledge, skills, and confidence needed for a smooth transition into university, college, or the workforce—ensuring international students also gain the cultural understanding and academic preparation essential for thriving in Canada’s education system.

Academic Requirements

  •  Completion of all prerequisite courses required for the University Preparation Program (UPP).
     A minimum of three English courses is required; specific requirements may vary depending on the chosen UPP stream.
     Students who have completed the IELTS exam are exempt from the UPP entry test.
